Overview of the Role
This role is responsible for reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies, and supporting a wide range of legal matters. The successful candidate will work closely with senior legal counsel and other departments to help safeguard the company's legal interests and maintain the required compliance standards.
The primary focus of this role will be on contract review, drafting, and negotiation. The candidate will need to ensure that contracts comply with company policies and applicable laws. They will also assist in the development of standard contract templates and processes.
Additionally, this role involves compliance support, including monitoring and ensuring the company's adherence to regulatory and legal requirements across various jurisdictions. The candidate will assist in conducting internal compliance audits and risk assessments, as well as supporting the development and implementation of compliance programs, policies, and training materials.
Legal research and advisory skills are also essential for this role. The candidate will conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. They will provide advice and recommendations on legal risks and compliance matters to internal stakeholders.
General legal support is also a key aspect of this role. The candidate will assist in corporate governance matters, including board meeting minutes and regulatory filings. They will also support the legal team with dispute resolution, litigation, and other legal matters as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Review & Drafting:
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, including supplier agreements, vendor contracts, client agreements, service agreements, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
- Ensure contracts comply with company policies and applicable laws.
- Assist in the development of standard contract templates and processes.
- Work closely with business teams and advise on day-to-day issues and concerns with client agreements.
- Compliance Support:
- Monitor and ensure the company's adherence to regulatory and legal requirements across various jurisdictions.
- Assist in conducting internal compliance audits and risk assessments.
- Support the development and implementation of compliance programs, policies, and training materials.
- Advise on corporate governance, data protection, and regulatory compliance.
- Legal Research & Advisory:
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide advice and recommendations on legal risks and compliance matters to internal stakeholders.
- Assist senior legal counsel and legal team in preparing legal opinions and reports.
- General Legal Support:
- Assist in corporate governance matters, including board meeting minutes and regulatory filings.
- Support the legal team with dispute resolution, litigation, and other legal matters as required.
- Handle general legal administrative tasks, including maintaining contract databases and records.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contract laws and commercial agreements. They will possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a law firm or in-house experience is preferred.
