Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Principal Architect and Portfolio Product Members to establish a strategic execution plan aligned with our organizational goals.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify system requirements, ensuring they are consistent, complete, correct, and operationally defined.
  • Conduct cost–benefit analyses to determine whether requirements are best met by manual, software, or hardware functions, leveraging commercial, off-the-shelf, licensed, free, or open-source software or existing components.
  • Partition large systems into manageable subsystems and components, each handled by a single engineer or team.
  • Interface with Tech Leads, DevOps, and IT team members to resolve design or implementation issues in accordance with fundamental design concepts and user needs and constraints.
  • Develop and socialize maximally robust designs to ensure successful implementation with engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with IT on activities like defining requirements, assessing server, storage, and infrastructure sizing, analyzing hardware sizing to meet application requirements, and designing load balancing and clustering solutions according to architecture standards.
  • Generate documentation for design, implementation, and/or consumption of systems, including sketches, models, user guides, technical specifications, and prototypes.
  • Maintain architectural products and products with architectural input in the most current state, adhering to department architecture guidelines.
  • Provide technical guidance for system design, design implementation, and integration engineering activities.
  • Communicate professionally with coworkers and external customers.
  • Participate in internal and external technical reviews, as required.
  • Contribute to the code base as needed on core modules or sensitive functional areas.

Requirements:

  • Excellent time management, resource organization, and priority establishment skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong competency working with Product Management, Engineering Management, and Business-facing IT teams.
  • In-depth understanding of an enterprise value stream or line of business.
  • In-depth conceptual and technical understanding of architecture disciplines (business, information, technology).
  • Strong ability to influence and lead change directly related to the organizational goals of a business unit or portfolio of products.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of team leadership experience.
  • Proven software architecture and development experience, including Service Oriented Architecture, cloud-based services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise computing software, including system management standards and solutions.
  • Passion for technology and providing a technical roadmap that drives innovation.
  • Strong understanding of relational database design concepts.
