Senior Data Engineer Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead and manage end-to-end data engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, AWS, Python, and distributed data processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end data engineering projects ensuring scalability, performance, and quality.
  • Act as a technical lead across teams; provide architectural guidance and oversee development best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement microservices and big data solutions.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and build strong client relationships.
  • Contribute to project planning, sprint delivery, and status reporting.
  • Foster team collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor / Masters degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering with large-scale data systems.
  • 3+ years in technical leadership or team management roles.
  • Proven expertise in AWS cloud (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, etc.).
  • Strong programming skills with Python and PySpark for big data processing.
  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker for containerized deployments.
  • Experience in designing and developing microservices architectures.
  • Track record of leading engineering teams and driving project outcomes end-to-end.
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

  • Experience building and optimizing distributed data processing systems.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on system design and architectural planning experience.
  • Certifications such as AWS DevOps or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) are a plus.
