Job Overview:

As a Fiber Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for driving the rollout and operation of fiber infrastructure.

  • Deliver project outcomes aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure the highest quality of workmanship while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  • Enhance accountability through in-house operations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Increase fiber penetration by accelerating fiber rollout.
  • Manage annual capital expenditure (Capex) and operational expenditure (Opex) forecasts and control.
  • Govern Managed Service Partner relationships for owned fiber, adhering to contractual service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Optimize fiber Capex to deliver scalable and resilient fiber infrastructure with high network uptime standards.
  • Roll out owned and indirect return upon request (IRU) fiber in line with annual operating plan (AOP) targets.
  • Enable new points of presence (POPs) and network widen rollouts by providing new fiber pairs as required.
  • Develop and operationalize cluster operating models to meet organizational requirements.
  • Deliver project and operational KPIs and SLAs by collaborating closely with circle teams and vendors.

Core Competencies:

  • Experience: 12-15 years of telecom experience in fiber planning and project operations.
  • Ability to manage in dynamic and challenging environments.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in transport operations model technologies, including DWDM, SDH, EoSDH IP MPLS, TE, QoS.
  • Commercial and legal understanding for contract closure and agreement management with vendors to achieve better KPIs and cost factors.
  • Excellent analytical skills, team building, and interpersonal relationship skills to excel in cross-functional projects and ensure exceptional customer experiences.
  • Effective time management strategies to ensure fiber project completion within fixed timeframes.
