Job Title: Data Protection Project Manager

Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Data Protection Project Manager to spearhead our Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) compliance initiative. This pivotal role demands end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of the compliance program in alignment with Bermuda equivalent data protection regulations.

The ideal candidate will lead the implementation of the PIPA compliance framework across all business units, conducting a comprehensive assessment of current data privacy policies, systems, and processes to identify gaps against PIPA requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing a robust PIPA compliance framework across all business units
  • Conducting a thorough assessment of current data privacy policies, systems, and processes
  • Defining and implementing controls for data collection, storage, access, and sharing
  • Developing data mapping and inventory to identify all personal data processed by the organization
  • Establishing governance structures, reporting mechanisms, and escalation paths for compliance tracking and accountability
  • Managing vendor relationships and third-party assessments related to data processing and privacy
  • Designing and facilitating training and awareness programs on data protection principles and responsibilities under PIPA

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing regulatory or compliance-driven projects, preferably in the financial services sector
  • In-depth understanding of data privacy regulations (PIPA, GDPR, or similar)
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into actionable business processes
  • Experience with change management and business process re-engineering is an advantage
