Job Title: Switchgear/Switchboards Design Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled design engineer with strong expertise in switchgear and switchboard design. The ideal candidate must have pure switchgear knowledge and be able to work independently.

About the Position:

  • This is a challenging role that requires a high level of skill, expertise, and experience in switchgear and switchboard design.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed designs for enclosures, busbar supports, frames, and layouts for switchgear/switchboards.
  • The position requires a strong understanding of UL-compliant switchgear and switchboard design principles.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed designs for enclosures, busbar supports, frames, and layouts for switchgear/switchboards.
  • Develop 2D/3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and BOMs using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Standards & Compliance:
  • Ensure designs comply with UL 1558 (Switchgear), UL 891 (Switchboards), UL 508A (Control Panels), and UL 67 (Panelboards).
  • Consider IP/NEMA ratings, CSA and IEC standards, thermal management, and safety requirements.
Integration & Collaboration:
  • Interpret electrical schematics to ensure proper mechanical/electrical integration.
  • Collaborate with electrical designers to provide fully integrated solutions.
Engineering Considerations:
  • Address thermal management, mechanical strength, structural stability, and vibration.
  • Validate designs for manufacturability, reliability, and compliance.
