Lead Medical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned medical coder to lead our team at the Vizag office. The ideal candidate will oversee a group of medical coders, ensure accurate and timely coding, monitor quality and productivity, provide guidance, and act as the main point of contact between team members and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular audits of coded charts to maintain compliance with industry standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, etc.) and client requirements.
- Provide feedback, coaching, and development plans for team members.
- Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of medical coders.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert, assisting team members with complex coding issues and escalations.
- Liaise with management and other departments to communicate updates, process changes, and client requirements.
- Prepare and share performance reports, highlight concerns, and work on corrective actions as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory policies.
- Ensure adherence to data privacy and confidentiality requirements at all times.
Requirements:
- A graduate degree in Life Sciences, Paramedical Science, or related field is required. Advanced degrees/certifications (CPC, CCS, CCA, etc.) are preferred.
- A minimum of 8-12 years of experience in medical coding is required.
- In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, and medical terminology is necessary.
- Strong team management, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are required.
