Program Manager Job Description

This role involves solving complex business and customer-centric problems to improve efficiency, cost, and speed of fulfillment for a heavy and bulky channel.

You will partner with stakeholders across business and operations verticals to develop scalable solutions that eliminate ambiguities.

  1. At least 4 years of experience in a top-tier company driving programs or projects is required.
  2. A supply chain background is desirable but not mandatory; core skills are what matter most.
  3. A bachelor's degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or similar is essential.
  4. You must be able to grasp operational concepts of customer order flow across all miles with different volume and demand patterns.
  5. The ability to manage a business that operates 24/7 and commit time required to get the job done is crucial.
  6. Business analysis and partnership across Amazon with AFT, SME, and Operations leaders to develop new operating opportunities.
  7. Regularly monitor performance markers and drive continuous improvement to optimize process consistency, cost, and customer experience.
  8. The ability to deal with ambiguity, take high-confidence assumptions, or seek help/elevate discussions wherever required to deliver results is vital.
  9. The ability to back-up narratives and decisions with data is essential.
  10. A high degree of ownership, self-motivation, and backbone to stand-up for what is right vs. what is easy/comfortable is necessary.
  11. Dealing with varied stakeholders and earning their trust is also required.
  12. Working knowledge of data mining using SQL, ETL, data warehouse, and Excel is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Strong presentation skills are needed to independently present narratives and take questions from stakeholders in open forums.
  2. Proficiency in VBA Macro, Quicksight/related dashboard tools, Python, R, etc. is desirable.
  3. Excellent written communication skills - data-oriented and brevity being key words in your style of writing are essential.
  4. Direct work experience in e-commerce, warehousing, or delivery station operations is beneficial.
