Operations Director

Job Description:

The Operations Director is a key member of the senior leadership team responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company. This includes managing multiple teams, developing and implementing operational strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures to drive growth and efficiency.
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and oversee daily operations of the company.
  • Establish policies that promote a positive company culture and vision.
  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication, and evaluate performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Assist in fundraising ventures and participate in expansion activities.
  • Manage relationships with partners and vendors, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful as an Operations Director, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience in senior leadership roles, with a focus on operations management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience developing and implementing operational strategies and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of business process optimization, supply chain management, and logistics.
  • Financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the ship repair & upgradation, shipbuilding, defence technology, equipment sales & services, and weapons & electronics industries.
  • Familiarity with maritime regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and ISO standards.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
