Plant and Machinery Operations Manager

The role of a Plant and Machinery Operations Manager is to oversee the entire process from equipment erection to maintenance. This involves coordinating with various teams, ensuring timely completion of projects, and maintaining high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Erect, dismantle, maintain, and operate Luffing Jib tower cranes, passenger hoists, and placer booms.
  • Develop methodologies for equipment erection, operation, and preparation of checklists.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and optimize costs by sourcing plant and machinery operators and mechanics.
  • Generate local management information system (MIS) reports for mechanical heads at headquarters or project in-charges.
  • Maintain site records of equipment, including log books, preventive maintenance records, and upkeep of equipment at zonal sites.
  • Prepare budget estimates for spares and running expenses for each machine and monitor them on a monthly basis.
  • Train personnel on safe equipment usage and repair/servicing procedures.
  • Ensure optimal use of plant and machinery, corresponding to their rated productivity output.
  • Minimize equipment breakdowns and maximize availability at site.
  • Implement service schedules based on hours/Kms running to achieve minimum equipment break-downs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience.
