Job Title: Azure Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

Azure Cloud Engineers are integral to a large-scale transformation program aimed at re-hosting legacy applications on cloud-based infrastructure. The successful candidate will be part of this critical initiative, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable, and efficient Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Network, IT Security, Compliance, and the Cloud Architect to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of Azure environments.
  • Work closely with development teams, Operations, Security, and Architects to design, implement, and maintain robust Application deployment pipelines, prioritizing security by design and secure in practice.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for knowledge sharing, training, and future reference.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in configuration management, resolving complex issues and providing expertise on best practices.
  • Support DevOps and Cloud adoption for application teams, reviewing current and proposed architecture, and design deliverables to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to identify strategic cloud adoption requirements, driving informed decision-making.
  • Execute proof-of-concepts and feasibility studies to validate next-generation product concepts and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with IT Security, Compliance, and Risk Teams to guarantee all solutions meet stringent security standards.
  • Partner with Scrum masters and product owners to translate roadmaps into actionable releases.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving technology trends, leveraging new innovations to enhance the cloud estate.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills in designing and maintaining Azure cloud infrastructure, with a focus on scalability, security, and high availability.
  • Technical hands-on experience with provisioning large and complex Azure cloud environments, utilizing automation tools like PowerShell and ARM templates.
  • Proficiency in Azure Foundations and Scaffolding, with a good understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS connectivity.
  • Expertise in Azure Networking, including Express Route, Virtual Networks, ASG/NSG, and Azure Firewall.
  • Azure Active Directory, Identity Management, RBAC, and AAD Connect.
  • Azure SQL - PaaS Databases and Managed Instance.
  • Azure Virtual Machines, Storage provisioning, and configurations.
  • Azure BLOB, Data Factory, and PaaS Storage provisioning.
  • Windows Server 2012/2016 and Linux VMs in Azure.
  • DNS, UDR, Traffic Manager setup.
  • Azure Automation with PowerShell and ARM Templates, preferably Terraform or Ansible.
  • Technical skills in DevOps and CI/CD, with experience in Jenkins/Azure Pipelines or GitHub Actions.
