Job Description:We're looking for someone who is passionate about diabetes education and has excellent communication skills. As a Clinical Diabetes Specialist, you will be responsible for providing self-management training and education to patients with type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes.
You will educate patients on signs and symptoms of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia, as well as respective treatments. Additionally, you will provide nutritional counseling for diabetes management and deliver patient education as needed or directed by healthcare providers.
You will also perform assessments and data collections, establish outcome criteria, and collaborate with patients, family members, and healthcare team members to obtain, review, and analyze information.
As part of our team, you will attend outreach activities such as health fairs for diabetes screening and health education. You will monitor and evaluate short and long-term patient responses to therapeutic interventions in collaboration with providers and provide necessary follow-up for patients and families.
You will instruct patients and family members on how to administer insulin, self-monitor blood glucose, and medication education. Furthermore, you will introduce the BeatO brand to diabetic patients.
In terms of qualifications, we are looking for candidates with a degree in B.Sc. (Home Science/Dietetics/Food & Nutrition) and Masters in Dietetics/Food & Nutrition. A minimum of 0-3 years of experience in patient education and counseling is required. Strong written and oral English language communication skills are essential.
