Senior Electrical Substation Design Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to lead the development of detailed engineering drawings for EHV substations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design & Documentation: Develop detailed panel arrangements, one-line/three-line diagrams, and equipment wiring.
  • Technical Analysis: Prepare calculations and reports for engineering studies, such as Voltage drop and AC/DC load studies.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate design activities with other departments globally, reviewing designs and attending virtual meetings with clients.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, participating in quality reviews and developing new tools and workflows.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all electrical substation design packages comply with client standards and international codes like NESC, IEEE, and IEC.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 10 years of experience in substation design, preferably with projects in the US, Canada, and the UK.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Familiarity with substation automation systems based on IEC 61850.
  • Knowledge of Relay Testing and control/protection scheme testing is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Substation 3D Design suits is considered.
  • Personal Attributes: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, methodical work approach, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
