Key Responsibilities

As a DevOps Infrastructure Expert, you will:

  • Bridge the gaps between core infra, security, QA, and development teams.
  • Owning end-to-end Availability, Performance, Capacity of applications and their infrastructure, creating/maintaining observability with Prometheus/New Relic/ELK/Loki.
  • Provide 24X7 infra & app support, build processes, and document 'tribal' knowledge.
  • Mentor and train L1 engineers, continually improving app and infra support processes.
  • Implement best practices for setting up, managing, and versioning Cloud infrastructure resources using Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
  • Manage application deployment & GKE platforms, automating and improving development and release processes.
  • Owning and onboarding new applications with production readiness review processes.
  • Manage SLO/Error Budgets/Alerts, performing root cause analysis for production errors.
  • Work with Core Infra, Dev, and Product teams to define SLO/Error Budgets/Alerts.
  • Work with the Dev team to have an in-depth understanding of application architecture and its bottlenecks.
  • Identify observability gaps in application & infrastructure, working with stakeholders to fix them.
  • Manage outages, doing detailed RCA with developers, identifying ways to avoid that situation.
  • Automate toil and repetitive work.

Requirements

We're looking for a DevOps Infrastructure Expert with:

  • 8-12 years of experience in managing high traffic, large scale cloud infrastructure, with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, managing, and deployments in containerized/microservices environments using Docker/containerd, Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in helm, with experience in service mesh like Istio, Linkerd.
  • Hands-on experience in managing and troubleshooting Kubernetes, Cloud Networking, and Cloud Infrastructure environment.
  • Extensive experience with Linux administration and a good understanding of various Linux kernel subsystems (memory, storage, network, etc.).
  • Extensive experience in DNS, TCP/IP, UDP, GRPC, Routing, and Load Balancing.
  • Expertise in GitOps, Infrastructure as a Code tool such as Terraform, and Configuration Management Tools like Chef, Puppet, Saltstack, Ansible.
  • Expertise in Google Cloud (GCP) and/or other relevant Cloud Infrastructure solutions like AWS or Azure.
  • Experience in building CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Spinnaker, Argo.
  • Hands-on experience and significant exposure to DevSecOps tools like Vault, Trivy, and Teleport.
  • Expertise in Cloud networking configuration, management, and troubleshooting. Good understanding of CDN, WAF rules.
  • Good to have experience with multiple datastores (Kafka/RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch).
  • Must be proficient in any of the DevOps scripting languages - Python or Go.
  • A collaborative spirit with the ability to work across disciplines to influence, learn, and deliver.
  • A deep understanding of computer science, software development, and networking principles.
  • Ability to lead technical projects by gathering requirements, preparing architecture/design, and executing it end-to-end.
  • Strong project and program management skills.
