Job Title

We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ Series FTE z/OS Admin System Programmer to administer and support messaging infrastructure that supports enterprise applications and batch processes.

  • Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ Series and MQ FTE on z/OS. Ensure a secure, reliable, and high-performing environment.
  • Manage MQ objects including queue managers, queues, channels, and cluster configurations.
  • Monitor MQ performance and availability, applying tuning techniques to optimize throughput and reduce latency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute upgrades of MQ Series and FTE components on z/OS. Conduct compatibility checks, regression testing, and rollback planning.
  • Implement and manage MQ security protocols including TLS/SSH certificates, RACF integration, and security exits. Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards for secure messaging environments.
  • Support integration of MQ with z/OS subsystems including CICS, DB2, and IMS. Develop and maintain automation scripts using REXX, JCL, or Assembler for MQ operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of MQ Queue Sharing Groups, FTE configurations, and MQ monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency in COBOL, REXX, JCL, and related language tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
