Data Governance Engineer Opportunity

Job Description:

As a seasoned data governance engineer, you will lead the deployment and optimization of enterprise data governance solutions in support of clinical research and data science initiatives. This critical role involves driving data discoverability, lineage, privacy, and policy enforcement across diverse healthcare datasets and analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deploy and configure Microsoft Purview to establish end-to-end data governance, including data cataloging, classification, lineage, and access control.
  • Define and implement metadata management frameworks and data stewardship models aligned with regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Integrate Purview with Azure Synapse, Databricks, and various production systems for metadata harvesting, lineage tracking, and compliance auditing.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure governed access to trusted datasets and reproducible metrics.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in enterprise data governance, data modeling, or data engineering roles that emphasize analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and/or Unity Catalog deployment and configuration, including policy and security settings.
  • Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies, data masking, and sensitive data classification strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data workflows and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Azure Data Services and data cataloging best practices.
