System Development Engineer

The REALM CORE Team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Development Engineer to join their team. This role involves integrating and managing innovative solutions to improve Amazon Transportation's network efficiency.

Job Requirements
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix production software issues
  • Develop monitoring solutions, perform software maintenance and configuration, implement fixes for internally developed code (Perl, Ruby, C/C++, JAVA)
  • Perform SQL queries, update, track, and resolve technical challenges
  • Build and develop tools automating daily operational activities

Responsibilities also include working alongside development on Amazon Corporate and Divisional software projects, updating/enhancing our current software, automating support processes, and documenting our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Play a vital role in helping us leverage supporting and developing technologies on any platform to increase global collaboration, efficiency, and meet our controller ship requirements
  2. Directly work with development teams to improve the applications built by conducting technical mitigations and deep dives on reported issues to find the cause and corrective actions
  3. Work with our other technical teams to ensure the design is effective and complements our in-house custom-developed applications across platform stacks (including SQL, Java/.NET/C#/Perl/Python) or SaaS
  4. Work on proactive detection mechanisms to report dips in software performance by building efficient metrics/monitors/alarms using our in-house tools
  5. Build tools and automations to optimize the system, simplify processes, etc.

The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, work independently, and maintain professionalism under pressure.

You must be able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages. Your ability to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, work to improve the customer experience, and get the right things done would have direct impact on Amazon Transportation's network efficiency.
