Senior Backend Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and own backend delivery in a TypeScript/AWS environment. Your primary responsibility will be to build and extend backend services using TypeScript/Node.js, focusing on financial workflows like KYC, servicing, and withdrawals.

About the Role
  • Designing and maintaining PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and queries to ensure seamless data management.
  • Integrating with third-party APIs securely (OAuth2, JWT) to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Improving existing systems for performance, reliability, and audit requirements by collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This is a full-time contract role (initial 3 months, possible extension), focused on core features, transactions, and secure APIs powering a product built for real customers and regulatory scrutiny.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in financial services.
  • Strong TypeScript/Node.js skills, productive from day one.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and serverless patterns.
  • PostgreSQL expertise, including schema design, performance tuning, and real-world queries.
  • Solid understanding of building secure, documented REST APIs.
