Job Title: Manager - Legal

The desired candidate should have 5+ years of experience and possess the following skill sets:

  • Drafting, negotiating, and finalizing proposals, content licensing agreements, MSAs, service agreements, telemarketing/telco agreements, ad sale agreements (programmatic and direct), NDAs, LOIs, business agreements with various vendors and service providers, strategic partnerships with global players, app integration agreements, consulting agreements, marketing/sales agreements - domestic and global, website terms and conditions.
  • Knowledge of Information technology/internet laws, copyright, trademarks, data privacy (domestic and global), consumer protection, payment regulations, intermediaries, entertainment, media and advertising laws/regulations will be an added advantage.
  • Experience of working in the digital media/publishing industry and sound understanding of the applicable regulatory framework will be a plus.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Excellent academic credentials, including a law degree preferably from a Tier 1 law school.
  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience, with relevant experience in digital media/publisher industry.
  • Sound knowledge of the IT laws, privacy laws, contract drafting, negotiation and management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Responsible, self-starter, capable of simultaneously handling multiple, multi-faceted projects and working under pressure.
  • Team player capable of working well across departmental lines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in time management and prioritization.
  • Ability to interface effectively and appropriately with individuals at all levels, both within and outside the organization.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiating skills. Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, closing of contracts (end to end)
  • Solid business, commercial and techno-legal acumen.
  • Ethical, with the highest standards of integrity.
  • Should be able to interpret and apply law and regulation in a practical, hands-on manner with common sense. Should be able to advise business on interpretation and application of various laws, including media laws, intellectual property, copyrights, information technology laws, data protection, consumer protection, intermediaries, advertising & marketing laws/regulations.
  • Should be able to manage and prioritize a wide variety of matters and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Should be able to communicate clearly, concisely, effectively and persuasively with all levels of business and stakeholders.
  • Able and willing to work proactively, both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Educational qualification: Bachelors / Master's degree in Law
