Job Brief

The Security Operations Centre plays a vital role in ensuring the protection of digital assets from unauthorized access.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Incident responders assess and remediate serious attacks, collect data for further analysis, and communicate with customers on both online and on-premises systems.
  • Analysts work proactively to seek out weaknesses and stealthy attackers, reviewing vulnerability assessments based on monitored assets.
  • Security events are monitored through various SOC entry channels (SIEM, Tickets, Email, Phone) based on security event severity and suspicious activities, escalated as appropriate to perform further investigation and resolution.
  • SOC Analysts work together under team leadership to safeguard corporate data and technology platform components from known threats.
  • Root causes of Events & Incidents are identified and analyzed.
  • The SIEM platform is kept up-to-date, and security strategies are contributed to as new threats emerge.
  • Emerging security threats and regulatory requirements are continuously assessed.
  • Enhancements are brought to SOC security processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Customer build documents, security procedures, and processes are documented and maintained.
  • Incidents are documented to contribute to Incident Response and Disaster Recovery plans.
  • Critical incident reports and scheduled weekly & monthly reports are reviewed for technical and grammatical accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 Years' Experience as a SOC Analyst - Experience in SIEM Tool ELK & Wazuh preferable.
  • Process and Procedure adherence.
  • General network knowledge and TCP/IP Troubleshooting.
  • Ability to trace down an endpoint on the network, based on ticket information.
  • Familiarity with system log information and its meaning.
  • Understanding of common network services (web, mail, DNS, authentication).
  • Knowledge of host-based firewalls, Anti-Malware, HIDS.
  • Understanding of common network device functions (firewall, IPS/IDS, NAC).
  • General Desktop OS and Server OS knowledge.
  • TCP/IP, Internet Routing, UNIX / LINUX & Windows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Skills:

  • Excellent Event or Log analytical skills.
  • Proven experience as IT Security Monitoring or similar role.
  • Exceptional organizing and time-management skills.
  • Very good communication abilities.
  • ELK, Wazuh, Splunk, ArcSight SIEM management skills.
  • Reporting.
