We seek an experienced Data Specialist to manage our data cleaning and quality assurance processes for new projects.

The successful candidate will review and correct financial transaction data based on accounting rules, transforming it into business expense insights.

This cleaned data will be used to build products in our fastest-growing initiatives.

This is a remote role based in India. We require flexibility during training and onboarding periods.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manually review and update raw financial transaction spend data to transform it into accurate business expense insights.
  • Verify and make corrections to financial transaction data according to U.S. accounting principles.
  • Thoroughly examine expense trends over time, across multiple vendors and different record types.
  • Deduplicate overlapping transactions like vendor bills and journal entries, selecting the correct record.
  • Adjust amortization dates of expenses.
  • Inferring amortization dates if they are unclear.
  • Verify and tag the correct vendor for each transaction.
  • Document repeated data issues and collaborate with other teams to improve data quality processes.
  • Closely work with our Data Product team every day.
