Job Title:

Backend Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Backend Architect to design and build the backend foundations of our system.

The ideal candidate will have experience in building scalable and high-performance systems, as well as expertise in async I/O, queues, retries, and state machines.

You will be responsible for owning backend partner integrations and designing a resilient ledger and state machine for money movement.

In addition, you will implement a policy engine for approvals, caps, timelocks, and joint accounts, ensuring performance, reliability, and observability across production systems.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in building backend systems at scale
  • Strong skills in TypeScript/Node, Go, Rust, or Kotlin
  • Experience with database modeling for consistency (Postgres, Redis)
  • A track record of owning systems end-to-end from design to production
  • Bonus: experience with crypto custody/MPC, Bitcoin UTXOs, or fintech/payment systems
