Slack Developer Job

Job Overview:

  • We're seeking an experienced Slack developer to join our team and help us build custom Slack apps and integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy custom Slack applications using JavaScript, Node.js, and Slack SDKs (Bolt, Web API).
  • Develop efficient and secure Slack experiences leveraging the Deno runtime.
  • Create interactive Slack interfaces with modals, slash commands, and message actions.
  • Develop Slack Workflows, Canvas templates, and custom functions to automate business processes.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with Slacks security and permission models.

Integration & Middleware:

  • Design and implement integrations between Slack and external systems such as SuccessFactors, GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Calendar.
  • Utilize middleware platforms (Workato, Mulesoft) or custom APIs for seamless data exchange.
  • Collaborate with backend teams to expose APIs and services for Slack integrations.
  • Manage OAuth flows, token management, and secure data exchange.

Workspace Configuration Support:

  • Assist in configuring Slack workspaces and channels to support app deployments.
  • Work with Slack Admins to manage app permissions, scopes, and workspace policies.
  • Support Slack Connect and guest user configurations for external collaboration.

Monitoring & Maintenance:

  • Monitor Slack app performance, usage, and error logs.
  • Implement logging, alerting, and analytics for Slack applications.
  • Maintain documentation and version control for all Slack development projects.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing Slack apps and integrations.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, and Slack SDKs (Bolt, Web API).
  • Experience working with the Deno runtime and modern development practices.
  • Familiarity with Slack enterprise features (Grid model, workflows, user roles).
  • Strong understanding of OAuth, REST APIs, and secure app development.
  • Proven experience integrating Slack with enterprise platforms via middleware solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
