Job Title: Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our team in designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications
  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines
  • Design, implement, and monitor HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups
  • Plan and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
  • Monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store, identify and resolve bottlenecks by optimizing queries, indexes, and resource allocation

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Must have 8+yrs working on Azure MS-SQL database

Candidate should be working as Lead Admin and working as single point of contacts for all the Azure and on-prem MS-SQL Database and Cloud Admin activities

Experience in designing and architecture of Public cloud such as Oracle OCI or Azure-

Hands-on experience with Managing Oracle OCI or Azure VM, Network and Security

Support the lifecycle management of business critical applications to include installing patches, performing upgrades, managing releases, and administration tasks

Support the development and production environments of business critical applications by ensuring application availability, responding to application emergencies, and supporting deployments

Experience with Azure cloud platform services, particularly Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Virtual Machines

Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
