Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Expert to join our team as a Corporate Compliance Specialist. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in managing direct and indirect taxation for India and international jurisdictions.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work with SHL, a leading provider of people analytics and technology solutions. As a Tax Expert, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate compliance with all direct and indirect tax regulations. Your expertise will also be utilized to handle GST-related queries within our organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate taxation, including experience in Indian accounting standards and IFRS. You will work closely with our Head of India Tax to manage both direct and indirect taxation for India and international jurisdictions. This includes submitting annual Corporate Income Tax returns, TDS Returns, GST monthly returns, and other relevant documents.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Timely submission and revision, if any, of annual Corporate Income Tax returns, TDS Returns, GST monthly returns, and GST annual return.
  • Handling Income Tax, TDS, GST, and other notices relating to assessments, appeals, enquiries, investigations, etc., and ensuring timely submission of data and documents.
  • Preparing applications and liaising with GST officers for refund of excess credit, Income tax officers for obtaining Income tax refunds, processing of rectification applications, and other documents.
  • Computing and ensuring proper accounting of deferred tax and tax provision for consolidated and standalone accounts closure for India and other allotted jurisdictions.
  • Assisting in annual statutory audits and internal audits for India and at Group level.
  • Being a resource for frequent ad-hoc tax queries from various stakeholders.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is ₹1,200,000 - ₹1,800,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. This figure is based on industry standards for similar roles in India.
