Cloud Data Migration Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and execute end-to-end data migration projects from on-premises to cloud platforms.

  • Strong expertise in data migrations with hands-on experience in on-prem - cloud and cloud - cloud workloads is required.
  • Proficiency in cloud migration tools (Azure Data Factory, Azure DMS, Storage Migration Service, AzCopy) is essential.
  • A good understanding of networking and infra setup (VMs, VNets, connectivity, ExpressRoute/VPN) is necessary.
  • Experience with backup/restore solutions (Azure Backup, Recovery Services Vault, Site Recovery) is desired.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and common RDBMS migrations is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute end-to-end data migration projects from on-premises to cloud platforms (cloud-to-cloud).
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory or other cloud services.
  • Perform workload migrations including databases, applications and unstructured data into cloud services (Azure SQL, Azure Blob, Azure Data Lake, etc.).
  • Collaborate with infra teams to configure cloud VMs, VNets, NSGs, subnets and ExpressRoute/VPNs for migration scenarios.
  • Implement and manage backup and restore solutions using Azure Backup, Recovery Services Vault and Azure Site Recovery.
  • Ensure data security and compliance during migration (encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, private endpoints, VPN).
  • Troubleshoot and optimize migration performance (bandwidth utilization, data compression, delta loads).
  • Document migration strategies, runbooks, and post-migration validation steps.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in data migration is preferred.
