High Salary Mechanical Design Position

As a mechanical design engineer at HCL, you will be working on cutting-edge projects and contributing to innovative designs.

Job Description
  • Deliver projects throughout the product lifecycle from concept to production in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles to meet product requirements and deliver value engineering by exploiting and exploring new methodologies.
  • Prepare detailed design documentation for production including component design, drawings, assembly drawings, instructions, and BOMs with full configuration control.
  • Perform DFMEA analysis for new development projects and current product range.
  • Design and performance validation on current products or refining existing models in the product range.
  • Contribute to and lead design reviews and workload where/when required product development, continuous engineering, ECO/ECN.
  • Set standards within the business for best and modern engineering practices.
  • Understand value engineering strategies and DFM.
  • Communicate and present ideas to other engineers and across the business.
  • Take responsibility for design projects.
  • Have strong organizational skills to work on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Have practical hands-on experience in mechanical engineering and assembly.
  • Be willing to travel as required supplier visits, technical support in extreme cases.

Required Skills:

  • Mechanical or electro-mechanical engineer.
  • 3D CAD tools Solid Works and PDM vault.
  • Expertise in PLM system ECO/ECN.
  • Hands-on experience in GD&T and stack-up analysis.
  • Basic understanding of cable harness and simulation.
  • Sound knowledge of manufacturing methods and material selection.
  • Exposure to electrical components.

Good to have:

  • Basic understanding of thermal structural analysis.
  • Basic understanding of electric modules/schematic.
  • Hands-on experience in Ansys.
