Job Title: Cloud Data Engineer

This is a long-term contract role that requires the candidate to work remotely as a cloud data engineer. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in data engineering with core Google Cloud experience of 3-4 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, construct, test and maintain large volume data acquisition pipelines for structured and unstructured data in the Google Cloud ecosystem.
  • Build complex datasets based on business requirements leveraging various tools.
  • Design and develop 'big data' pipeline architecture.
  • Identify opportunities for data acquisition via working with stakeholders and clients.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Leverage multiple Google Cloud services including Python, Cloud Functions, Pub Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage to integrate systems and data pipelines.
  • Monitor pipelines using logs and alerts.
  • Use SAP SLT to replicate SAP tables to Google Cloud.
  • Develop JSON messaging structures for integrating applications.
  • Implement DevOps and CI/CD practices to ensure pipeline reliability and scalability.
  • Partition and retrieve content in Big Query and use IAM roles to secure access.
  • Use authorized views to share data between projects.

The ideal candidate should be available to work US work hours with some flexibility to stretch their work hours occasionally.
