Job Title: Accounting Specialist
About the PositionThis role bridges the gap between technical testing and accounting expertise, requiring a deep understanding of accounting standards, double-entry bookkeeping, ledgers, and taxation processes.
Key Responsibilities- Review business and accounting requirements to design and execute test cases for financial software.
- Perform functional, regression, and integration testing on financial modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Taxation, Payroll).
- Validate that double-entry bookkeeping principles are applied correctly across all transactions.
- Ensure accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of ledgers.
- Test compliance with relevant tax rules and regulations (e.g., VAT, GST, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax).
- Identify, document, and track software defects, ensuring timely resolution with the development team.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and high attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail) is desirable. Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Tally, NetSuite) is also beneficial.
