Purchase OfficerWe are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to oversee the purchasing process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials that support our manufacturing operations. This role involves key responsibilities such as procurement, inventory management, and documentation and record keeping.
Key Responsibilities:- Procurement: Researching and evaluating vendors to compare pricing and services, coordinating with suppliers to place orders and track deliveries, preparing and processing purchase orders, ensuring quality of procured items and addressing any problems.
- Inventory Management: Managing inventory requisitions from production team, supplier's Order Board to maintain minimum required quantities and reordering supplies when needed, ensuring materials accurately on time with accurate records of inventory movements.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Preparing and maintaining documents for purchase activities including purchase orders, receipts, and materials received records, dispatches etc., ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years experience in a procurement role in an industrial setting.
- Good knowledge of engineering bought-out items like mechanical, electrical parts, soft jigs, chucks, steel, industrial lubricants, carbide inserts, etc.
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management with supervisory and management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other ERP software is required.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with spoken knowledge of English mandatory. Knowledge of Kannada or Hindi will be an added advantage.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with suppliers and other departments.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and software.
- Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions about procurement and inventory.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for procurement and inventory management.
