Project Scheduler Consultant

Job Overview:

  • As a seasoned professional, you will report to the Project Controls Manager, Project Manager, or Project Director.
  • You will be responsible for creating and updating schedules in MS Project and/or P6 based on the project's scheduling tool.
  • Supporting project teams with budget preparation, schedule creation, and other tasks assigned is a key aspect of this role.
  • Evaluate data integrity by checking and auditing schedules for accuracy.
  • Identify areas for improvement by analyzing project trends over its lifecycle.
  • Assess and report on changes to baseline plans and forecasted dates within the scheduling tool.
  • Review schedule impacts on milestones and produce recovery plans to minimize delays.
  • Resolve deviations from current plans, recording changes as needed.
  • Rebaseline schedules when necessary.
  • Maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) from original estimates within project schedules.
  • Collaborate with project teams, construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather progress data.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports highlighting variances from current baselines.
  • Record project scope modifications and contribute to change order submissions.
  • Oversee projects across Canada.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and tracking of various projects.
  • Collect and organize multiple project schedules.
  • Manage project baselines and current schedules.
  • Understand project and contract materials.
  • Develop and implement a Project Controls Plan and Procedures.
  • Liaise with client personnel as required.

Requirements:

  • More than 5 years of experience in scheduling supporting the construction industry is essential.
  • A University Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Business Administration, or equivalent education and industry experience is required.
  • Expertise in using Primavera P6 is a must.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft Project is necessary.
  • The ability to multitask, manage time, and prioritize tasks effectively is crucial.
  • Demonstrated ability to support project managers, coordinators, construction managers, and direct field staff is essential.
  • Certifications like PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) or AACE International's Earned Value Professional (EVP) are highly desirable.
