Programmes Leadership Position

This is a key role in driving the programme portfolio of an esteemed organisation. The successful candidate will lead the design, steering, and scaling of impactful initiatives through effective planning, collaboration, and outcome-oriented delivery.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop long-term strategies and annual plans for programme themes.
  • Cultivate opportunities for collaboration and innovation to strengthen impact.
  • Oversight of select programme areas to ensure timely, high-quality delivery in line with agreed goals.
  • Provide guidance to project teams to enhance operational efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Foster partnerships with implementing agencies, knowledge partners, and peer organisations to strengthen programme outcomes.
  • Represent the organisation in external forums as required.
  • Mentor mid-level team members to help them grow into leadership roles.
  • Promote a collaborative culture that values learning and accountability.
  • Ensure effective systems for tracking progress, capturing lessons, and adapting strategies.
  • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and knowledge products.
  • Contribute inputs to programme planning and monitor utilisation in assigned programme areas.
  • Ensure adherence to internal processes and compliance frameworks.
Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:

The ideal candidate should have at least 12–15 years of relevant experience in programme design, management, or evaluation within the development sector, including experience in leadership roles.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and translate plans into results.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural and social contexts.
