We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend and Cloud Security Engineer to lead our backend applications and cloud services team. This role requires designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable APIs and cloud infrastructure while ensuring robust security across all systems. Key responsibilities include building secure APIs, managing AWS cloud infrastructure, and integrating with external platforms, adhering to cloud security best practices for IoT environments.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs for various use cases using best practice approaches.
- Optimize backend performance for reliability and scalability under diverse workloads.
- Develop and manage AWS cloud infrastructure with a focus on secure, cost-effective, and high-performance solutions.
- Establish and enforce security policies for cloud infrastructure, including Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles, least privilege access, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Requirements
- Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or Java, with a focus on secure development practices.
- Strong understanding of AWS services, including IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and VPC.
- Experience with API security standards, secure integration patterns, and containerized environments.

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
- Open-source contributor experience.
