About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of statistical methodologies, mathematical optimization, and machine learning.

This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid foundation in statistical inference and classical machine learning, and experience applying statistical techniques to real-world business problems.

Responsibilities include collaborating with product design and engineering teams, collecting and analyzing datasets, developing and implementing statistical & machine learning models, and communicating findings to stakeholders through clear and effective data visualizations.

  • Data Analysis: Collect and process large datasets to extract meaningful insights and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Model Development: Design and implement advanced statistical models to address business challenges and improve operational performance.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate complex statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and present findings through clear and concise data visualizations.

Requirements:

  • Education: Master's or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
  • Skills: Deep knowledge of statistical inference, vector calculus, linear algebra, and classical machine learning (especially decision trees, PCA, PLS, and Bayesian statistics).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in data science or machine learning environments that require the combined application of statistical & technical skills.
  • Development Skills: Excellent development skills in Python.

Nice to Have:

  • Convex Optimization: Experience with convex optimization algorithms and techniques.
  • Kaggle Competitions: Familiarity with Kaggle competitions or similar data science challenges.
