About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced professional to provide comprehensive legal support across various agencies in South Asia.

As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while safeguarding our commercial interests.

Your expertise will be instrumental in advising stakeholders on a broad range of legal matters, including commercial, employment, intellectual property, data privacy, ethics, and generative artificial intelligence (GAI).

You will manage and oversee litigation and arbitration matters, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, and provide legal support on employment law matters.

In addition, you will assist in briefing senior advocates/external counsel, conduct legal research, and deliver training and legal risk management initiatives.

You will also implement and monitor best practices in ethics, compliance, contracts management, intellectual property, data privacy, IT, litigation, M&A, and GAI, ensuring alignment with our internal policies and external legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal support to various agencies under our network
  • Advise stakeholders on a broad range of legal matters
  • Manage and oversee litigation and arbitration matters
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements
  • Provide legal support on employment law matters
  • Assist in briefing senior advocates/external counsel
  • Conduct legal research and deliver training and legal risk management initiatives

Requirements:

  • LL.B with 6-8 years post-qualification experience as an in-house lawyer and/or in law firms
  • Experience in the Media & Entertainment or Information Technology industry is an advantage
  • Diplomas in legal vocations/subjects such as advertising laws, media and entertainment, intellectual property rights, data privacy, or compliance are desirable but not mandatory
  • Strong commercial acumen and a solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Ability to identify legal risks, issues, and solutions across a broad spectrum of legal areas
