Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Database Professional to lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, ensuring seamless migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments to ensure high availability and data redundancy.
  • Plan and execute database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) with minimal downtime, ensuring business continuity.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans) to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency, and develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments, with proven expertise in upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions, as well as hands-on experience with AWS database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions).
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization, with a solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell or automation tools for database administration is a plus, along with excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
