Job Title: Enterprise Directory Architect

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Directory Architect to lead our enterprise migration initiative as a full-time member of our team. This project involves two separate directory forests and a strategic transition towards cloud-based identity management.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in hands-on architecture, scripting, and configuration across hybrid identity and network environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and document existing directory and DNS environments.
  • Implement domain controller migrations and replication setup across multiple directory forests.
  • Support integration and migration to cloud-based identity management solutions.
  • Assist in transitioning DNS from on-premises to a cloud-based solution.
  • Configure and manage DHCP scopes, conditional forwarders, and stub zones.
  • Troubleshoot issues with LDAP, Kerberos, and NTLM-based authentication.
  • Write and maintain PowerShell scripts for provisioning and automation.
  • Execute infrastructure-as-code via Terraform within existing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Follow detailed implementation plans provided by the architect or lead.
  • Collaborate with the team through agile project management tools, participate in daily standups, and maintain accurate technical documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5 - 10 years of hands-on experience with directory services (multi-domain or multi-forest environments).
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Directory Services,
  • Cloud-based Identity Management,
  • PKI and Network Policy Server,
  • DNS & DHCP (on-premises and/or cloud-based alternatives),
  • LDAP, Kerberos, and NTLM protocols,
  • Identity protocols: OIDC, OAuth2, SAML,
  • Experience with directory trusts, group policy, OUs, and FSMO roles.
  • Excellent PowerShell scripting skills.
  • Comfortable working in both legacy and modern hybrid cloud environments.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (DevOps preferred).
  • Experience with hybrid identity platforms (e.g., Azure Active Directory Connect, Active Directory Federation Services).
  • Background in large-scale migrations of legacy applications dependent on directory services.
  • Understanding of IT compliance and governance in cloud-native infrastructure.
