US Sports News Editor Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled US sports news editor to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in proofreading and content editing, with experience leading a team of writers being an added advantage.

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the accuracy and quality of published content. This includes verifying facts, checking plagiarism, and enhancing the overall quality of articles.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and publish 20-25 articles daily, ensuring timely delivery for priority news-based articles.
  • Proofread articles for grammatical errors, plagiarism, and fact-checking.
  • Research and verify facts to ensure the accuracy of published content.
  • Publish articles in a timely manner, working closely with the editorial team lead.
  • Mentor and guide allocated writers to enhance their quality, output, and performance.
  • Manage daily operations of writers in the sport division.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6-12 months of experience in proofreading and/or content editing.
  • Prior experience leading a team of writers would be an additional plus.
