Procurement Specialist Job Description

As a procurement specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the procurement function by providing day-to-day support for procurement modules, ensuring system performance, and resolving technical and functional issues. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into system solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and Maintenance: Provide day-to-day support for procurement modules including requisitions, purchase orders, invoicing, supplier management, and expenses.
  • System Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and resolve technical and functional issues in a timely manner.
  • Business Requirements Understanding: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into system solutions.
  • User Access Management: Manage user access, roles, and permissions within the procurement system.
  • Integration Support: Support integration between the procurement system and other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, SSO, middleware).
  • System Upgrades and Testing: Assist in system upgrades, testing, and deployment of new features or enhancements.
  • Documentation: Document support procedures, FAQs, and training materials for end-users.
  • Issue Resolution: Liaise with the procurement team and vendors for issue resolution and product updates.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in a similar system.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of procurement processes, experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow), familiarity with integration tools (e.g., Dell Boomi) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Procurement certifications or training.
  • Additional Skills: Experience with SQL, reporting tools, or data analysis, knowledge of ITIL practices.
