Chemical Production Specialist Job Description

A key contributor is sought for a pharmaceutical manufacturing company to lead the preparation and execution of chemical production batches. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and consistent product quality while adhering to standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and execute chemical production batches according to established protocols.
  2. Safely manage pyrophoric reagents, Raney nickel, and operate pressure reactors in line with company policies.
  3. Perform filtration of low-melting solids and apply optimal techniques.
  4. Report any deviations from specifications and work with senior chemists to troubleshoot and rectify issues.
  5. Maintain accurate records of production activities including batch records, test results, and any deviations from standard procedures.
  6. Generate reports and summaries as required by the production and quality control teams.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
  8. Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns promptly.
  9. Operate production equipment such as reactors, mixers, and filters.
  10. Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure functionality.
  11. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality control, and research and development.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth production process.
  13. Participate actively in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  1. Candidates with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in chemistry from a reputable institution may apply.
  2. Individuals with up to 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical production sector are preferred.
  3. Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and work effectively as part of a team is essential.
  4. A desire to gain experience in leading and contributing to production is highly valued.
  1. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  2. Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset to drive innovation and overcome scientific challenges.

The physical demands of this role require strong visual acuity, fine motor skills, and the ability to sustain focus for extended periods while standing or moving across the production floor. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment are essential due to potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and heavy machinery.
