Negotiator ResponsibilitiesKey Job Duties- Clinical duties involve diagnosing and managing various neurological disorders including stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, dementia, neuropathies, migraines, neuromuscular disorders etc.
- Analysing data from neurological examinations and diagnostics such as EEG, EMG, NCV, MRI brain/spine to identify appropriate treatment options.
- Developing comprehensive treatment plans combining pharmacological, rehabilitative and lifestyle interventions.
- Providing care for both inpatient and outpatient neurological patients.
- Collaborating with neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, physiatrists, and ICU teams for multidisciplinary patient care.
- Overseeing or conducting neurodiagnostic procedures such as:
- Lumbar puncture
- Nerve conduction studies (NCS)
- Electromyography (EMG)
- Electroencephalography (EEG)
- Interpreting advanced neuroimaging data from CT/MRI/PET scans.
- Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and neurology residents.
- Conducting clinical bedside rounds, case discussions and seminars.
- Mentoring students on thesis work, clinical research and journal club presentations.
- Contributing to curriculum development and clinical assessments.
- Participating in clinical research projects related to neurology.
- Publishing case studies and original research in peer-reviewed journals.
- Attending and presenting at national/international neurology conferences.
- Engaging in CME activities and updating knowledge of the latest neurological advancements.
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and records.
- Supporting hospital quality initiatives and clinical audits.
- Participating in stroke codes, neuro-emergency response and interdisciplinary case boards.
Required:
- MBBS + MD in Internal Medicine or equivalent qualification
- DM / DNB in Neurology from a recognized institution
- Valid registration with Medical Council (State/National)
Desirable:
- Fellowship or subspecialty training (e.g., Stroke, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Neuromuscular Medicine)
- Teaching experience in a medical college or DNB/DM program
- Prior experience in neuro ICU or stroke unit
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of neurological conditions
- Proficiency in interpreting neurodiagnostic tests and scans
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Effective communication and empathy with patients and their families
- Teaching, mentoring and academic abilities (if in an educational institution)
- Ability to collaborate across specialties (ICU, psychiatry, rehab etc.)
