Job Title: Steel Furniture Designer

The role of the Steel Furniture Designer involves creating innovative and visually appealing designs while ensuring structural integrity.

This position requires close collaboration with various teams to bring ideas to life, including product development, engineering, and production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and designing steel furniture products such as tables, chairs, shelves, and storage units.
  • Preparing 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
  • Collaborating with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are practical and feasible for production.
  • Performing structural analysis of steel furniture to ensure durability and stability.
  • Selecting materials and finishes based on aesthetic, functional, and cost considerations.
  • Conducting research on trends in furniture design and material innovation.
  • Developing prototypes for testing and modifying designs based on feedback.
  • Coordinating with suppliers for sourcing materials and components.
  • Ensuring designs meet safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry specifications.
  • Assisting in developing cost estimates for production, assembly, and materials.
  • Working with the marketing team to understand customer needs and incorporate feedback into designs.
  • Preparing technical documentation and design presentations for stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Steel Furniture Designer in the industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of material properties, particularly steel and other metals.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes for steel furniture (welding, cutting, bending, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong portfolio of previous design work is a plus.
