Accounting Manager Role Summary

This senior-level accounting position is responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the month-end close process, ensuring the accurate and timely recording of income, expenses, and changes in assets and liabilities on a monthly basis in accordance with IFRS requirements.
  • Review and approve journal entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure their accuracy and compliance with established policies.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement trend analyses for management to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Maintain overall technical accounting compliance by monitoring relevant IFRS and US GAAP developments to ensure that accounting policies and procedures are up-to-date and compliant.

Additional Accountabilities:

  • Serve as an internal technical accounting expert, providing research support and preparing technical accounting memos as needed.
  • Review new and existing revenue contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition and adherence to company policies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally during contract negotiations to analyze the impact of non-standard contract terms and offer alternative structures.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in financial and accounting roles, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of public accounting experience required.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong technical accounting background with thorough knowledge of both IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Ability to clearly document and effectively communicate complex accounting and reporting issues to both finance and non-finance teams.
