Job Title: SPM Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview of the Position:

The position of SPM Mechanical Design Engineer is a key role within our organization, responsible for achieving customer specifications and requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Achieve customer specifications and requirements.
  • Design and develop SPM, including automation and mechanical engineering components.
  • Work in a team environment as a key resource for mechanical design and development.
  • Understand customer requirements and propose solutions keeping functionality and optimization in view.
  • Cross-functional interaction to qualify new designs.
  • Offer technical support.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
  • Automation, electromechanical/mechatronics concepts.
  • Customer requirement understanding, feasible idea proposal, and concept creation.
  • Engineering drawings reading, interpretation, and creation, particularly precision components and fabricated structures.
  • Wide knowledge of automation products.
  • Engineering component and concept validation through calculations.
  • Commercial item selection, such as bearings, motor, gearbox, servomotor, sensors, conveyors, etc.
  • Best machining process awareness, heat treatment process, engineering materials, surface treatment, EDM EBM mechatronics, and material handling equipment knowledge.
  • Limits fits and tolerances, GD & T, surface finish application.
  • DFx (DFM, DFS, DFA) concepts.
  • Robotics, robot selection, and application knowledge is an added advantage.
  • CAD 2D/3D platform familiarity, particularly AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS.
