Interventional Radiology Medical Coding Specialist

Job Overview
Accurate medical coding is essential for reimbursement and quality assessment in interventional radiology. We are seeking skilled Medical Coders to review complex reports, assign precise codes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carefully review and interpret detailed interventional radiology reports to assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for procedures and diagnoses.
- Apply relevant coding guidelines and regulations to ensure adherence to federal, payer-specific, and internal standards.
- Stay up-to-date with IR coding guidelines, CPT changes, and compliance regulations to maintain high-quality coding performance.
- Support audits by providing detailed coding rationale and documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Hold Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CIRCC certification.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Interventional Radiology coding.
- Have working knowledge of radiology workflow, RIS/PACS systems, and coding tools.
- Be proficient in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes.
Additional Considerations:
- MIPS Coding is Mandatory for this position.
