Highly Skilled Medical Coding Specialist

Senior medical coders play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of medical records. They must have extensive knowledge of various coding systems, including CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, and units from medical record documents.
- A minimum of 5+ years' experience is required for coding medical records in Inpatient and Outpatient Surgical Specialties, including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Cardiology, Spine, Oral, etc.
- The ability to assign ICD-10-CM & PCS diagnoses and procedure codes correctly and completely is essential.
- Advanced technical knowledge in specific inpatient and outpatient surgical and medical specialties is required as assigned.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and experience in researching and applying coding rules and regulations are necessary.
- Data entry of codes into a database and/or software tool requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and EMR systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, along with a positive and respectful attitude.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Education: A science graduate or postgraduate degree.
- Credentials: Current AHIMA/AAPC certification(s).
- Communication: Outstanding verbal and written proficiency in English.
- Work location: Ability to work from an office setting.
