Data Science Specialist Role

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Science Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our data analytics team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning models to detect and prevent financial crime activities.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in data science, quantitative modeling, or financial crime analytics. You should have proven experience with ML/AI algorithms and their application in real-world financial crime use cases.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including risk, compliance, and IT to ensure models meet regulatory and business requirements. Your role will involve analyzing large datasets to identify suspicious patterns and emerging threats related to financial crime.

In addition to your technical skills, you should have excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience in data science, quantitative modeling, or financial crime analytics
  • Proven experience with ML/AI algorithms and their application in real-world financial crime use cases
  • Hands-on experience with OMR modeling or OMR reporting in the financial crime domain
  • Strong understanding of sanction screening, transaction monitoring, or other financial crime risk management processes
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data analysis and model development
  • Experience working with large datasets and advanced statistical techniques
  • Good knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to financial crime (e.g., AML, KYC, Sanctions compliance)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or a financial crime-related consulting environment
  • Prior exposure to deploying models in production environments and monitoring model performance
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and model validation principles
