Dam Safety Specialist with Hydrological Expertise

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Dam Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our hydrological modeling department, you will be responsible for leading dam break analysis and emergency planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and finalize Tier-I documents adhering to international best practices and national guidelines.
  • Provide technical support in developing and finalizing emergency action plans (EAPs).
  • Facilitate stakeholder consultation meetings and review/finalize plans presented in project support teams (PSTs).
  • Design and deliver customized training courses on dam break analysis, inundation mapping, and EAP preparation and implementation.
  • Conduct capacity building programs for implementing agencies and perform integrated flood routing studies for cascades of reservoirs.
  • Assist in the finalization of integrated operations of important or cascade reservoirs, undertake need-based flood routing studies, and conduct dam safety inspections.
  • Develop and implement training calendars and schedules, provide inputs for guideline revision, and contribute data to the National Dam Safety Information System and Management Information System.
  • Support the development of in-house expertise at select academic institutions, participate in national and international conferences, and assist in the finalization of Project Rehabilitation Reports and CS&QA Manual and Plan.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 15 years of experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling.
  • Expertise in dam break analysis and emergency planning.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
