About this role:

The Learning Support Specialist is a key contributor to the student experience, providing expert guidance and support throughout their learning journey.

This is a full-time, remote position that requires a subject matter expert with industry experience, demonstrated knowledge of the course subject area, and strong interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in data engineering and/or data science, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced educational tech environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring and responding to student inquiries, providing prompt feedback, suggesting course improvements, and collaborating with the Emeritus team to enhance course delivery.

Key responsibilities:

  • Respond to student inquiries via the learning management system and learner support software
  • Provide expert guidance on complex assignments and questions
  • Suggest course improvements to ensure content is clear and effective
  • Collaborate with the Emeritus team to enhance course delivery

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of extensive work experience in data engineering, data science, or data analytics
  • Professional and/or academic experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and GitHub
  • Experience using data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure
  • Advanced academic background in mathematics, particularly statistics, calculus, and linear algebra
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
