US Sports News Editor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced US Sports News Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports news and a strong understanding of the English language.

As a US Sports News Editor, you will be responsible for verifying the legitimacy of statistical data and facts, proofreading, and enhancing the quality of content before it goes live on our website.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Article Publication: Actively edit and publish 20-25 articles daily in a timely fashion for priority news-based articles.
  • Content Quality Assurance: Proofread articles to ensure no avoidable errors remain and check plagiarism.
  • Fact Research: Research to ensure veracity of facts and identify incorrect claims.
  • Team Mentorship: Mentor and guide writers to refine and boost their quality, output, and performance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6-12 months of experience in proofreading and/or content editing.
  • Prior experience leading a team of writers is an additional plus.
